Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre are photographers from Paris who decided to take a trip to Detriot, USA, to capture the urban decay of the once thriving city that became more or less abandoned in 2005. The artists have a book entitled “The Ruins of Detroit” where they share images of the abandoned buildings they encountered during their stay. The book features chilling images of a seemingly post-apocalyptic town, as if everyone picked up and ran away from their well established and happy lives. 230 pages, 186 of which are in colur, show churches that are in disrepair, heritage buildings that are crumbling to the ground and public transportation systems and shelters that resemble movie sets for a zombie film.
