The Pinzgauer:

The Pinzgauer is a family of high-mobility all-terrain 4WD (4×4) and 6WD (6×6) military utility vehicles. Originally manufactured in the late 60ies in Surrey, UK.

I say this could be a great vehicle for scouting missions and supply runs. The Pinzgauer definitely has amazing climbing power.

They seem to come in many different versions, so there should be one for everyone.

Zombie ride

This might quite possibly be one of the best zombie rides we’ve seen! It’s really well equipped and will comfortably support a group of four people as they travel across the country during the zombie apocalypse.

Flight simulator experience

I’ve often thought about surviving the zombie apocalypse for long enough to have to think about long term survival; setting up a community, a farm with running water and power and so on. I’ve come to realise that unless it is an incredibly well armed community with high walls then there’s little chance that it will last longer than a year because the inevitable zombie hordes will always come knocking.

So, where do you set up a long-term community? Well I’ve been thinking about islands. In particular one that is large enough to grow small crops, has a natural spring for water supply, and an ample amount of fish just off the coast. Unfortunately being based in London there are very few islands like that nearby and I realised that it would take a reasonably long flight or boat ride to get to an island either in Malaysia or the Caribbean.

I don’t know the first thing about flying an aircraft and I wondered how much I would kick myself should the situation arise that I was at the airport stood looking at a fully fuelled airplane with my group of zombie survivors. The answer to all our problems, our escape out of the UK was sitting right in front of us and yet none of us knew how to fly!

Since then I decided that getting in a flight simulator was pretty much essential training for the zombie apocalypse so I booked myself in for a session at the nearest one I could find to London. I had 1 hour to learn the ropes and decided that would be ample time to master the take off and landing procedures. I reasoned that several weeks into a zombie apocalypse there wouldn’t be many other aircraft in the skies and that since flying at altitude was only useful for saving on fuel (as well as typically selecting a safe flight path out of the way of other air traffic) I would just take off and fly to an altitude that was still near enough to the ground to see landmarks and be able to bail out from should I balls things up.

Technically not specifically zombie related, but we love the post-apocalyptic feel to this 2012 Chevy Super Bowl Commercial. A man drives his Chevy Silverado through an apocalyptic world predicted by the Mayan calendar. Unfortunately, not everyone makes it to the meeting point.
