Survival Guidelines

The most important element to the zombie apocalypse is your personal survival. Everyone fancies themselves as a survivor during the zombie apocalypse when they discuss exit strategies and tactics, but the harsh reality is that unless you’ve seriously considered how you’re going to make it through the incredibly stressful and emotionally draining experience that is the zombie apocalypse, then you’re going to be joining the massive ranks of the zombie horde very very quickly.

The survival guidelines section is broken down into 3 broad sections: immediate survival, main survival, and long-term survival. You should think of each of these sections as very different stages and ones that you must progress through in order to make it out the other side.

Ultimately, you’re going to need an equal mixture of the following in order to survive: preparedness, skill, and luck. If you’re not prepared, even if it is just mentally prepared, then you’re already seriously limiting your chances of survival. “Preparedness” or “survivalism” has become a term that is used to describe a philosophy and even a lifestyle with certain people who have made taken steps to ensure that they can sustain life for an individual, family, and even a whole community during a disaster. It’s important to note that there is more to survival than just surviving; it requires a willingness to lead, to learn new skills, to form a community, and to look ahead at the long-term survival of humanity.

You’re going to need at least one skill that will be useful during the zombie apocalypse; it will make you more of an attractive prospect when joining a group, and if you choose not to then you’ll be safe in the knowledge that if you can learn one survival skill, then you can learn more!

Lastly, you’re going to need an element of luck and no amount of the preparedness and skill will ensure that you get through unscathed. We can’t help you there but by being prepared you will put yourself in a better situation and more likely to be lucky.
